About The Author
Ernest Ryder
Sir Ernest Ryder is the Senior President of Tribunals in the United Kingdom and a Lord Justice of Appeal. He is also an Honorary Professor of Law and a Visiting Fellow of Nuffield College, University of Oxford. He is the Chairman of the Administrative Justice Council and the Course Director of the Leadership, Management and Development Programme in the Judicial College of England and Wales. He is a Trustee of the Nuffield Foundation. Professor Stephen Hardy is Headof Coventry Law School at Coventry University. He formerly practised as a barrister specialising in employment, commercial and public law, acting in several notable cases. He is an internationallyrecognised scholar in the fields of labour and social security laws. He previously worked at the EU Commission and the European Parliament. He has been a Judge of the First Tier Tribunal since 2011.
