Eric Hill
Eric Hill (1927-2014) began his artistic journey as an art studio messenger, progressing to become a cartoonist and later an art director at a prominent advertising agency. In 1978, he created a story about a small puppy for his son’s bedtime, giving birth to the character Spot. The remarkable success of his debut lift-the-flap book, Where’s Spot?, in 1980, inspired him to dedicate himself fully to writing. His Spot books have since brought joy to children globally. In 2008, he received an OBE for his contributions to children’s literacy.
