Enid Blyton
Enid Blyton, who died in 1968, is one of the most successful children’s authors of all time. She wrote over 700 books, which have been translated into more than forty languages and have sold more than 400 million copies around the world. Her stories of magic, adventure and friendship continue to enchant children the world over. Enid Blyton’s beloved works include The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, Malory Towers, The Faraway Tree and Adventure series.
Stuart Tresilian was a British artist and illustrator, best known for his illustrations of children’s books. After studying at the Royal College of Art he became an art class teacher. Stuart served in World War I where he was wounded and captured and held at Rastatt, Baden. During his imprisonment he continued to draw. These drawings are now in the Imperial War Museum. He was a brother in the Art Workers’ Guild, and is most famously known for illustrating Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book and Enid Blyton’s Adventure series and associated works. Stuart died in the summer of 1974.
