Emma Donoghue
Emma Donoghue is an award-winning writer. Born in Dublin in 1969, she now lives in Canada with her family. Her novels are the international bestseller Room, which was a finalist for the 2010 Man Booker Prize, The Sealed Letter, Life Mask, Slammerkin, Hood and Stir-fry. Her short-story collections are Astray, Three and a Half Deaths, Touchy Subjects, The Woman Who Gave Birth to Rabbits and Kissing the Witch, and her works of literary history include Inseparable, We Are Michael Field and Passions Between Women. In a career that has bridged lesbian and mainstream literature, she is widely acknowledged for having made lesbian themes accessible to a much wider audience.
