About The Author

Emily N. Taylor

Emily N. Taylor is director of the Physiological Ecology of Reptiles Laboratory (PERL) at California Polytechnic State University and the author of California Snakes and How to Find Them, among other books. Her research focuses on the environmental physiology, behavior, and conservation biology of snakes and lizards.

Tugce Okay is a natural history illustrator who works primarily with watercolors. Her work has appeared in many books and magazines.
