Description

A point of view, a state of mind - perspective is everything. Perspective is a book of shared insights from one of Australia's most exceptional athletes.

Ellyse Perry is among the all-time cricket greats - she's the only player, female or male, to represent Australia in both cricket and soccer World Cups, with her international debuts in both sports at age 16, and was the youngest ever Test debut at the age of 17 ... and she is just getting started.

From the lessons of a high-performance athlete's career to appreciating the small things in life - this inspiring illustrated book, for fans of Ellyse Perry, features stories and reflections from her childhood and career on the themes of dreaming, belief, work, resilience, acceptance, opportunity, balance and perseverance - and their importance in everything we do.

About the Author

Currently the world's top ranked women's all rounder, Perry has solidified herself in the national cricket team across all formats, as well as with the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League, and with the NSW Breakers, prior to her move to Victoria in 2019. Her career is dominated by firsts and milestones - she was the leading run-scorer for the Sixers in WBBL01, WBBL03 and the 2018/19 WBBL04 tournament, the same tournament which saw her become the first player in Big Bash history, male or female, to reach 2000 runs. In the 2017 Women's Ashes series, Perry achieved the highest individual score by any Australian in a Women's Test match. During the 2018 ICC Women's World T20 tournament in the West Indies, she became the first cricketer for Australia, male or female, to play in 100 Twenty20 International matches. In the final of the same tournament, she became the first cricketer for Australia, male or female, to take 100 wickets in Twenty20 International matches. Perry's many accolades include being named the inaugural ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2017, and twice winning Australia's prestigious Women's International Cricketer of the Year (Belinda Clark Award) in both 2016 and 2018. When she is not touring, Perry is based in Melbourne, where she lives with her husband, Australian rugby union player Matt Toomua.
