About The Author
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
Elizabeth Kübler-Ross (Zurich, 1926 - Scottsdale, Arizona, 2004) studied medicine and psychiatry and specialized in studies on death and palliative care. The need to scientifically address what the dying experienced arose, according to her own testimony, in her youth, when she decided to volunteer with American teams in the recovery of the Meidaneck concentration camp in Poland. This learning led her to investigate the final experience of life and to work for more than twenty-five years in the terminal illness wards of various hospitals in the United States. Her tireless work has been recognized and acclaimed worldwide, not only with twenty-three honorary doctorates, but also with the approval of millions of readers. Kübler-Ross was named one of the brightest minds of the twentieth century by Time magazine, and many consider her one of the most heroic and influential women of all time. She is the author of about twenty books, which have been translated into twenty-seven languages.
