About The Author

Dr Saira Hameed

Dr. Saira Hameed

Dr. Saira Hameed is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She also serves as a Senior Tutor at Imperial College London and is a prizewinning teacher in the Imperial College School of Medicine.

Dr. Hameed pursued her medical studies at Oxford University and University College London. She further enriched her experience with a visiting medical student placement in endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic. Her academic and research background includes being a Medical Research Council Training Fellow and a National Institute for Health and Care Research Clinical Lecturer.

She holds a PhD from Imperial College London. In 2024, she was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Dr. Hameed resides in London with her husband and four children.
