Dr Robert Lustig
Robert H. Lustig, M.D. is an internationally-recognised paediatric neuroendocrinologist, who specialises on the regulation of energy balance by the central nervous system. His research and clinical practice has focused on childhood obesity and diabetes. He is not co-opted by any organisation or individual, does not espouse a specific diet and has cared for patients for over 40 years. He believes the food business, by pushing processed food loaded with sugar, has hacked our bodies and minds to pursue pleasure instead of happiness; fostering today’s epidemics of addiction and depression. His first book Fat Chance was a NY Times bestseller and his Ted talk on sugar has over 8.7 million views.
Dr Lustig lives in San Francisco, USA with his wife Julie and two daughters.
