Critics Review

Julia Shaw brilliantly sets the pace for criminal acts that the world needs to know about. I found Green Crime deeply compelling. A true crime thriller that, for once, has global consequences – ADAM RUTHERFORDJulia Shaw has written a brilliant book that will completely change the way you think about the world, and how we treat it – ROMESH RANGANATHANWith a global scope and a sharp eye on the future, Green Crime shows us who breaks environmental laws, how and why. It’s a resounding call for all of us to fight for the planet we live on - and never give up – ALEX VON TUNZELMANN, Historian and author of FALLEN IDOLSWe live in a world where criminals act with arrogant impunity seemingly above the law while defenders of the planet are criminalised, demonised and persecuted for opposing them. Green Crime exposes these contradictions and calls for justice in a world that is ecologically and morally bankrupt … A welcome insight into the criminal behaviour that threatens our collective survival – PAUL WATSON, co-founder of Greenpeace and founder of Sea ShepherdThe most logical and hopeful book about the climate crisis that I have ever read… Rousing and gripping in equal measure - and written with absolute clarity - it should be read by everyone who cares about the future and who wants some guidance about helping humanity to get there – DAVID WILSON, Professor of Criminology and presenter of Channel 4’s In The Footsteps of Killers’Praise for Julia Shaw: ‘Well-researched, cogent and compelling … Shaw is always an engaging guide * * Independent * *Warmly, chattily written … Shaw draws knowledgeably on psychological and neuroscientific research * * Guardian * *Most of it is unsettling … It’s also rational, intelligent and necessary * * Herald * *
