Dr. Francesca De Filippi

Francesca De Filippi

Francesca De Filippi is an architect and PhD, currently an Associate Professor in Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. She also serves as Adjunct to the Vice Rector for International Affairs, focusing on international scientific cooperation and experimental internationalization activities, and directs the Research Centre on Habitat in the Global South. Her research interests center on designing safer, healthier, more affordable, and sustainable environments, settings, and structures, particularly in critical and vulnerable contexts with limited resources. This includes health and care systems, the implementation of frugal innovation methods and technologies, and the experimentation of methods and tools (including ICT-based) to foster social innovation, inclusion, co-design, and co-production, engaging communities and prioritizing fragile users. These areas have been explored through international research and scientific cooperation projects, teaching, participation in International Scientific Committees, and professional work.

Dr. Chiara Anzolini

Dr. Chiara Anzolini is a Junior Assistant Professor (RTDa) at the Department of Biology, University of Padova. She focuses on innovative approaches to science communication and public engagement and contributes to the National Biodiversity Future Center.

Professor Fabio Fracas

Professor Fabio Fracas is a physicist. He holds an MD from the University of Padua and has expertise in Atomic Spectroscopy, Radiotherapy and Radiation Protection, Quantum Physics, and Quantum Computer Science (Ph.D. course, University of Pavia).

AnnMarie

AnnMarie is a professor in the School of Engineering and the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas. She founded and directs the Playful Learning Lab, dedicated to exploring ways to encourage children of all ages to embrace playful learning. She and her students created Squishy Circuits. She is the author of “Making Makers: Kids, Tools, and the Future of Innovation.”

AnnMarie earned Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech, and an S.B. in Ocean Engineering (with a minor in Music) from MIT. She also completed a professional certificate in Sustainable Design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

She co-founded and co-directs the University of St. Thomas Center for Engineering Education (CEE), which offers engineering courses for P-12 educators and conducts research on pre-collegiate engineering. AnnMarie’s teaching covers topics such as Engineering Graphics and Design, Machine Design, Dynamics (with Circus Lab), Toy Design, Product Design for an Aging Population, Technology Prototyping (for Business majors), Environmental Sustainability/Innovation, and Brain Machine Interfaces (seminar).

AnnMarie served as the Founding Executive Director of the Maker Education Initiative, where her team established the national Maker Corps program and laid the groundwork for the nonprofit.

She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, with her husband and two daughters. She is an amateur aerialist, specializing in static and flying trapeze, as well as juggling and cyr wheel.

Andrea

Andrea is a journalist with thirty years of experience covering environmental issues. Drawing on scientific studies, he creates books, games, educational workshops, and summer camps aimed at teaching children to respect the Earth.

Benedetta Barone

Benedetta Barone has been an artist for Disney Italia since 2006. Barone has illustrated Chip ‘n’ Dale stories for Cip & Ciop magazine and stories for Disney Fairies.

Emilio Urbano

Emilio Urbano, born in Naples in 1974, has been an artist for Italian Disney comic productions since the late 1990s. He has created stories featuring Simba in Amici di Zampa, gag pages with Pierino & Pieretto in Topolino, and stories and covers for PK2, the comic book about Donald Duck as the superhero Paperinik. He drew the 14th book in the series Monster Allergy in 2006 and was also one of the artists for Disney’s Ultraheroes comic in 2008. Beyond Disney, Urbano provided artwork for Adeline Blondieau’s children’s drama serial Célimène with Manuela Razzi, published by Le Lombard since 2011. He also drew for Marvel’s The Mighty Avengers in 2011. He is a cover artist, illustrator, and inker.
