About The Author
Dinesh Kumar Singh
Prof. Dinesh Kumar Singh, Ex-Head, Department of Zoology, DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, U.P., India is actively engaged in the study of molluscan physiology, biochemistry and snail control since four decades. He has successfully isolated and identified pure molluscicidal compounds from more than three dozen medicinal plants and observed their mode of action on the snails at cellular level. His work is recognized internationally in the field of formulation and use of synthetic and bio-pesticides for integrated vector management. Prof. D. K. Singh has the honour to act as referee for Third World Academy award sponsored by TWA, Italy. He is recognized as a member of international fasciolosis control team of WHO. His expertization for controlling the snails has been sought by scientific bodies of Philippines and African countries. Prof. Singh has published 217 Full Research Papers, 17 Review Articles in 112 Journals of International repute. Out of 217 papers he has published 22 full papers on garlic. He has written five reference books and three book chapters. Recently in 2021, he has published a book entitled “Fasciolosis: Causes, Challenges and Controls” with Springer Nature and a chapter “Phytochemestry of Sapindus mukrossi and Medicinal Properties” in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of The World in Ecyclopedia of Life Support System (EOLSS), Developed Under The Auspices of the Unesco Eoloss Publishers, Paris, France. He has produced 27 Ph.D. and successfully conducted 17 research projects funded by various scientific agencies UGC, CSIR, DBT, UPCST, DST and ICAR, INDIA. Prof Singh is the fellow of Zoological Society of India and Academy of Environmental Biology. He is life member of National & International academic societies and editor and reviewer of various International Journals. His research team reported for the first time a nucleotide sequencing of Fasciola gigantica and their larva cercaria (GenBank accession number KT149356 and KT149357 for cercaria larva and F. gigantica, respectively).
Dr. Devesh Pratap Singh is working as an Associate Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Gorakhpur, U.P., INDIA. He has published 25 papers in Journal of International repute and 10 years of experience in medical teaching as well as in interventional pulmonology.
