Slay Ride

British investigator David Cleveland hadn't come to Oslo dressed for the Norwegian weather. But he didn't know what cold really was until someone tried to drown him in a fjord. Of course, it could have been an accident that the speedboat cut David's dinghy to ribbons. Just as it could have been a coincidence that champion jockey Robert Sherman had disappeared from Norway right before his wife was due to give birth and before the National, a race he was certain to win. But accident and coincidence couldn't explain the gruesome string of deaths that David Cleveland would find was meant to include his own.

Richard Stanley "Dick" Francis CBE FRSL (31 October 1920 - 14 February 2010) was a British steeplechase jockey and crime writer, whose novels centre on horse racing in England. Tony Britton was born in Birmingham, England in 1924. A renowned classical actor, he has been cast in many stage productions including Gigi and My Fair Lady, as well as numerous Shakespeare roles. Britton's film credits include Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971) and The Day of the Jackal (1973). He has had lead television roles in Robin's Nest (1977) and Don't Wait Up (1983), and narrated many audiobooks throughout his career.
