Diane Jackson Hill is an award-winning children’s author. She is passionate about connecting children to the beauty of our incredible world and encouraging their awareness of its fragility. Saving Seal is the third book in Diane and illustrator Craig Smith’s environmental book partnership. Chooks in Dinner Suits won the Wilderness Society’s 2017 Picture Fiction book Environmental Award for children’s literature. Windcatcher was published in 2019.
Craig Smith has produced illustrations for more than 380 picture books for children in an almost 40-year career. The humour and pathos are a recurring theme in his work, having lived as a child in the Australian landscape.
