About The Author

Diane de Anda

Diane de Anda grew up in Los Angeles as part of a third-generation Latino family. She was a teacher, first of children and adolescents, and then a professor of social welfare at UCLA. Her works are inspired by the stories her grandmother and great-grandparents told her about their experiences before and during the Mexican Revolution. After noticing the absence of children’s books in which Latino children could see themselves and their families represented, she decided to write stories in which they were the main characters. Diane was the author of several illustrated books, including La luna mango, 21 Primos, Yum, yum, Mexico!: Comidas de la A a la Z, and The Day Abuelo Got Lost.

Gloria Felix is a Mexican artist dedicated to professionally designing and painting backgrounds for animation. She holds a degree in 3D animation from the Tecnológico de Monterrey and a master’s degree in visual development from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. Her clients include Pixar, Capstone, Valve, HBS Games, DeviantArt, and Google HOLA. In addition to her work as a visual development artist and illustrator, Gloria dedicates time to traditional media painting and plein air painting.
