About The Author

Deon Meyer

Deon Meyer, born in South Africa in 1958, worked as a journalist, advertising copywriter, Internet manager, and brand strategist before becoming a novelist. He has published fifteen novels and two short story collections, translated into 28 languages in over 40 countries.

Meyer has written several television series, six feature film screenplays, and produced and directed movies. Dead Before Dying and Trackers were adapted into South African TV series, and the Benny Griessel series premiered as Devil’s Peak in 2023. Heart of the Hunter was released globally as a Netflix Original in March 2024.

Meyer was knighted by France in 2021 as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. He resides in Stellenbosch, South Africa, with his family.
