About The Author

Delano Squires

Delano Squires is the director of the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Human Flourishing at the Heritage Foundation. He studies the impact of marriage and family structure on social outcomes.

Squires is the author of several policy papers as well as op-eds and essays that have been published by the Institute for Family Studies, the New York Post, Compact, Newsweek, National Review, and Blaze Media. He has also written on matters of race, faith, and culture at Black Enterprise, The Root, TheGrio, World, and Black and Married with Kids.

Squires earned his bachelor of science degree in computer engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a graduate degree in public policy from the George Washington University. He lives in Maryland with his wife and four children.
