About The Author
Deepak Kasote
Dr. Kasote is a chemist and biochemist by training. He earned his Master’s in Biochemistry and Ph.D. in Chemistry from India. Dr. Kasote has more than 12 years of post-doctoral experience in the analysis of phytochemicals within the interface of multidisciplinary research areas such as plant science, food chemistry, natural product chemistry/phytochemistry, and nutritional biochemistry. His core expertise lies in chromatography, spectroscopy, and metabolomics. Currently, Dr. Kasote is working as a Research Associate at Qatar University (QU), Qatar. Before joining QU, Dr. Kasote worked in various prestigious institutes in the USA (Texas A&M University, North Carolina State University, and the University of Missouri), UK (University of Aberdeen), South Africa (Tshwane University of Technology), South Korea (Yeungnam University) and India (Agharkar Research Institute and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University). Dr. Kasote has contributed significantly to interdisciplinary research, publishing around 50 research articles, reviews, and book chapters, often as a lead author.
Dr. Kishor Kumar Sadasivuni is a Research Assistant Professor at the Center for Advanced Materials, Qatar University. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of South Brittany, France, and completed postdoctoral research at Inha University, South Korea, and Qatar University. His expertise spans analytical chemistry, nanomaterials, and interdisciplinary research involving collaborations across computer science, biomedical sciences, and engineering disciplines. He holds multiple patents and serves as lead investigator on several major research projects funded by the Qatar National Research Fund and Qatar University.
Dr. Alsafran obtained his PhD at Newcastle University, UK and Currently, he is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Agricultural Research Station (ARS) at Qatar University. He has an interdisciplinary research background, and his areas of research interest include phytochemistry, sustainable dryland agriculture, plant stress Physiology, biodiversity, and ecosystems. Dr. Alsafran has many scientific researches published internationally in his field of specialization as well as he has strongly participated in many research projects and grants as Principle Investigator or Co-Principle Investigator.
Dr. Lei is currently an assistant director of the MU metabolomics center and an assistant research professor of biochemistry. He obtained his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA in 2002, and then took a postdoctoral research fellow position at the Noble Research Institute in Ardmore, OK, USA, where he was promoted to a Research Scientist three years later. He moved to the University of Missouri (MU) in 2016 to direct a Metabolomics Center. Dr. Lei is an experienced researcher in phytochemistry and natural products. He applied advanced liquid and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC/GC-MS) to chemically characterize different phytochemicals in various plant species. He has the expertise and hands-on experience in LC/GC-MS-based metabolomics including experimental design, data collection, data processing, data analysis, and interpretation, library, and database construction. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
