About The Author

Debra E. Meyerson

DEBRA MEYERSON previously served as a tenured professor at Stanford University, where she focused on diversity, gender, identity, and organizational change. In September 2010, a severe stroke significantly altered her life and career, causing paralysis and muteness. Through years of dedicated therapy, she regained her independence, although she continues to manage physical limitations and speech challenges. Debra authored Identity Theft to guide fellow survivors and their loved ones through the emotional complexities she experienced. She resides in Menlo Park, California, with her husband and is the mother of three adult children.

DANNY ZUCKERMAN is the cofounder of 3Box, a peer-to-peer social network aimed at enhancing online connections and communities. His background includes working on a blockchain-based digital identity system, contributing to the development of digital math curriculum at Zearn, and working as a management consultant at Bain & Company. He studied political philosophy and economics at Stanford University. Danny is Debra Meyerson’s son.
