About The Author
Deborah Lock
Deborah Lock has been writing and editing children’s non-fiction, fiction, and educational titles for more than 25 years. She is dedicated to developing products that engage and inspire children, instill a love of reading and lifelong learning, and share the Christian faith. She is a licensed lay minister at her local parish church, leading worship and actively involved with children and youth work. She enjoys singing, drama, and dance, which come in very useful when co-ordinating the children-led Nativity service each year.
Skylar White lives in New York with her husband and her cat Alfie. She works primarily in watercolor and acryla-gouache on cold press paper, but also uses digital painting programs like Photoshop and Procreate. Other mediums like acrylic and ink, pens, and colored pencils can find their way into the mix, too.
Lauren Windle is a writer, presenter, and public speaker who focuses on faith, love, and recovery. She is the author of Drawing as Prayer: Connect with God through the Bible and Art, Notes on Feminism: Being a Woman in a Church Led by Men (SPCK, 2024), and Notes on Love: Being Single and Dating in a Marriage Obsessed Church (SPCK, 2021).
On April 22, 2014, Lauren got clean and sober from a cocaine and alcohol addiction and became a Christian five days later. She has a degree in Neuroscience and a Master’s in Addiction Studies from the UK’s leading addiction research center at King’s College London. For five years, she ran an addiction recovery service from her West London Church. In 2018, Lauren gave a TEDx Talk about her personal story of addiction and recovery: “Lessons an Addict Can Teach You.” She regularly speaks about her experiences on podcasts, in articles, at conferences, events, churches, and schools.
Lauren is published in Vogue, Marie Claire, Huffington Post, Red Magazine, Mail Online, The Sun, Fabulous Digital, The Star, Church Times, Premier Christianity, and others. She previously headed up the digital opinion page for Premier’s Woman Alive and was one of three hosts on TBN’s women’s panel show Sisterhood. She presents a fortnightly Christian dating show on dating app Salt’s YouTube channel.
