"Deborah Kelly was raised on a farm in New Zealand, where her family grew green beans and garlic. She studied Marine Biology at James Cook University in Queensland. Deborah has lived and worked in Japan and Scotland, and has always been passionate about art, film, books and writing. She wrote her first series of picture books (which she still has) when she was seven! Deborah now lives in Lake Macquarie with her husband and two children. Deborah's first picture book, The Bouncing Ball was published by Random House in October 2013. Her second, Jam for Nana will be published in April 2014. Daron Parton was born in the UK, got married to a Kiwi and moved to New Zealand in 1995. He studied at Central St Martins in London and graduated with a BA hons. He has been working as an illustrator since 1990 with a few other jobs slotted in. He has worked for GQ, Esquire, New Statesman, The Age, Bantam, Scholastic NZ, Penguin Australia, Pfizer, Glaxo Smith Klein, Vodafone, Telecom NZ, Z fuel and plenty more. He is also an illustration tutor at Auckland Uni of Tech. Daron has two sons, Ollie and Rhys."
