About The Author
David M. Jones
David M. Jones is an Instructor at Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana, as well as CEO of Tri Lakes Media LLC. He served as an automotive repair technician for 10 years before joining the full-time automotive faculty at Ivy Tech Community College NE five years ago. He has spent his time at Ivy Tech developing automotive curriculum that is engaging, user-friendly, technically precise, and academically rigorous, all the while, being adaptable to the varying skill and knowledge levels of in-coming students. According to David, “while there is no absolutely perfect curriculum or textbook, as close as we can hope to get is to develop learning materials that any student, from novice to experienced, can pick up and glean useful information from. That is what I feel we have accomplished with this textbook.”
Kirk T. VanGelder is a Certified Automotive Technology Instructor at Cascadia Technical Academy, in Vancouver, Washington. With over 30 years of teaching experience at the high school and college level, Kirk encourages students to think critically, learn how to ask questions of themselves, and then search out the answers. In addition to Fundamentals of Automotive Technology: Principles and Practice, he is the author of Fundamentals of Maintenance and Light Repair.
