About The Author

David E. Copeland

David Copeland

David Copeland is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He earned his PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Copeland has published psychology research articles and book chapters. He has been recognized with three teaching awards, a mentorship award, and an outstanding faculty advisor award.

Dr. Copeland has served as the undergraduate director in psychology and as a faculty advisor for Psi Chi. He has taught a variety of psychology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and he designed and currently teaches an Introduction to the Psychology Major course for psychology majors and minors at UNLV. He has supervised and mentored doctoral students who have pursued careers in academia and the private sector. Additionally, he has assisted numerous undergraduates in preparing for and gaining admission to graduate school, and has helped students find employment or volunteer opportunities after completing their bachelor’s degrees.

Jeremy Ashton Houska

Jeremy Ashton Houska is a psychological scientist, educator, and higher education leader dedicated to helping students, faculty, and institutions utilize evidence for learning, adaptation, and improvement. He holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Prior to his leadership roles in higher education, Dr. Houska was a tenure-track and later tenured Associate Professor of Psychology. In this capacity, he taught a wide array of undergraduate psychology courses and guided student research teams. His subsequent work in higher education leadership expanded his focus on learning and evidence from the classroom to the institutional level.

In senior administrative and executive positions, Dr. Houska has supported institutions in enhancing educational assessment, academic program review, accreditation strategy and response, strategic planning, data-informed decision-making, faculty development, and continuous improvement. This work demonstrates his ongoing commitment to helping colleges and universities better understand their students, refine their programs, and align evidence with institutional goals. Leveraging his experience as both a professor and a university leader, Dr. Houska empowers students to think critically and creatively, employ evidence thoughtfully, collaborate effectively across diverse perspectives, and lead purposeful lives.
