Dave Ainsworth
Dave Ainsworth is the award-winning playwright behind Oh Hello, a play about the Carry On star Charles Hawtrey, which was a ‘Pick of the Fringe’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and won the Laurel Award for Best Play. He also authored When the Carry On Stopped for Pen & Sword, published in 2025.
A stand-up comedian and actor for many years, Dave also served as a senior lecturer and programme director for the BA Acting course at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. He holds an MA in Creative Writing and resides in West Wales with his wife, Sue.
