Critics Review

“Bureaucratic inefficiency and obduracy are always infuriating. When the Food and Drug Administration is involved, they can be lethal. Using true stories, some heroic and others heartbreaking, Darcy Olsen, one of America’s foremost policy intellectuals, demonstrates the urgency of establishing the “right to try.” The right, that is, to try potentially life-saving medicines that are being denied to desperate people because of the glacial pace of the FDA’s approval process. “ - George F. Will

“As Darcy Olsen compellingly describes in the The Right To Try, anyone who has a loved one battling cancer knows that the right treatment can make a life and death difference. Every weapon is needed in the war against cancer, as seen by an increasing number of compassionate use campaigns supported by people worldwide on Change.org.” - Shayna Englin, Managing Director, North America, Change.org

”[Olsen] makes a convincing case that the slow pace of the Federal Drug Administration’s development and approval process for new medications is needlessly costing lives…. High-quality advocacy certain to stir debate. “ - Kirkus Reviews
