About The Author
Daniela Krien
Daniela Krien (Neu Kaliß, 1975) worked in various jobs before 2010, when she decided to dedicate herself fully to film and writing. Considered one of the most prominent voices in contemporary German literature, she achieved international recognition since the publication of her first work, a novel about German reunification that earned her the prestigious Junger Literaturpreis and was translated to 17 languages. Her second installment, Love in an Emergency (2019), reached the top of the best-seller lists in her country, being translated into 18 languages and made into a film by Emily Atef.
Isabel García Adánez (Madrid, 1972), with a degree in German Philology and Hispanic Philology and a doctor in German Philology, is a Full Professor of German Philology at the Complutense University of Madrid and researches literature and arts from the 19th to 21st centuries. She lives in Madrid with frequent getaways to Berlin. In 2006 she received the I Esther Benítez Prize for The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann and in 2020 the National Translation Prize for Always the Same Snow and Always the Same Uncle by Herta Müller.
