Description
Daniel Cohn-Bendit - aka Danny the Red - led demonstrations at the Sorbonne in Nanterre which led to disciplinary action by the university and questioning by the local police. The immediate result of this heavy-handed discipline was a huge increase in the size of the French student movement and the outbreak of rioting which brought France to the edge of revolution in May '68.
