Toxoplasmosis, Cats, Humans, and Nature

All cat owners should have at least some basic knowledge about cat toxoplasmosis; a cat zoonosis also referred to as cat litter disease. The protozoan parasite that causes the disease, Toxoplasma Gondii, is a public health issue. It is also an economic and environmental issue. The decisions and behavior of cat owners, with respect to cat care and feeding, cat litter cleaning, and cat litter disposal, can have a positive or negative impact in these respects.
