About The Author
Clarkb. Millikan
Clark B. Millikan (1903-1966) was a distinguished professor of engineering at the California Institute of Technology. He was active in the establishment and management of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory from World War II on, and was an advisor on aeronautical matters to the U.S. military establishment. He taught the first course in rocket propulsion given in the United States. Dover is proud to reprint Millikan’s Aerodynamics of the Airplane, an important milestone in the history of aeronautical literature.
