About the Author

Claire Tomalin has been literary editor of the New Statesman and the Sunday Times. She is the author of seven highly acclaimed literay biographies, including Samuel Pepys, which won the Whitbread Book of the Year award, and the international bestseller, Charles Dickens- A Life. She is married to the novelist and playwright Michael Frayn.
