Critics Review
A twist on Mervyn Peake’s gothic masterpiece, Gormenghast …there is huge narrative energy in the plotting and a vast tapestry of characters … The Foot on the Crown caps a dazzling career. – Suzi Feay * SPECTATOR *
While the fantasy genre may rule the roost at present, it’s clear from just a few pages … that The Foot on the Crown might have shaped the current genre had it appeared earlier. Exhilarating, panoramic, sporting the kind of eccentricity of characterisation that was always the writer’s stock in trade, this might almost be called a final peroration to a spectacular career. – Barry Forshaw * CRIMETIME *
Praise for Christopher Fowler * : *
Wit and wisdom that make every page turn. * Starburst *
Beautiful, magical and moving. * Daily Mail *
Quirky, touching, profound and utterly original…a gripping page-turner. * Peter James *
