Critics Review

“One of the great consolations of being Catholic is knowing that the Mother of our Lord is our Mother, too.” Mary’s Mantle Consecration deepens one’s personal life of virtue, unites people in prayer, and sanctifies daily life, thus making us more like her Son and so bringing joy to her motherly heart. I am grateful to Christine Watkins for making this disarmingly simple practice, which first grew in the fertile soil of Mexican piety, available to the English-speaking world.” –Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone; San Francisco, California “I recommend it for individuals, spouses, families, and parishes as a valuable answer to the call to the New Evangelization.” –Bishop Myron J. Cotta; Stockton, California “Christine Watkins leads us through a 46-day, self-guided retreat that focuses on daily praying of the Rosary, a little fasting, and meditating on various virtues and the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, leading to a transformation in our lives and in the people on the journey with us!” –Fr. Sean O. Sheridan, TOR; President and Professor of Theology; Franciscan University Steubenville, Ohio “After I did Mary’s Mantle Consecration, my husband stopped drinking after many years. He got on his knees, apologized to me and the kids, and started coming to Mass with us. It’s just a miracle.” –Carla Agustin; Santa Rosa, California “The meditations in Mary’s Mantle Consecration so moved me and made such an impression on my heart that I wanted more. I knew the retreat would be the perfect help for the Church during this time of crisis, so I decided to coordinate one for my parish, which was made easy through daily emails. The Holy Spirit touched everyone in a special way during the 46 days, including myself–again. Many people still tell me how much they miss it and ask, ‘When will we do this again?’” –Rosanna Ruiz, wife of Deacon Mark Ruiz; St. Joseph Catholic Church; Lincoln, California “I wholeheartedly recommend this self-guided consecration to Mary–preparing with the Rosary, simple fasting, and the contemplation of virtues and gifts–for any intention, no matter how desperate.” –Fr. Samuel West; Pastor, St. Patrick Church, Sonora, California
