About the Author

Christine’s passion for horses began at an early age. In fact she and her sisters were so enthralled by the creatures their parents set a “Don’t talk horses at meals” rule!. Christine learned to ride aged seven, and from there, her life revolved around her favourite animal. As an adult, she moved to Virginia, USA, where she worked as a professional rider. When she returned to her home in Oxfordshire, she married and helped to launch two branches of Riding for the Disabled. From an early age, Christine often wrote with her twin, Diana, and their elder sister Josephine, though all three also authored many stories individually, Christine was the most prolific writer, publishing over 100 titles. Eric Rowe is a British wildlife artist and illustrator whose distinguished career has seen him work with a number of the leading advertising agencies across Europe. Born in London in 1938, he studied art and design at Harrow Art College in West London, subsequently working as an illustrator at a London design studio. Alongside his commercial work he also began painting for both commissions and fine art publications, leading to his becoming a full-time freelance illustrator. He was commended in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition, 2011.
