Animals and magic prove to be a winning blend in this all-action, fun-filled, wonderfully illustrated story which celebrates the rewards of teamwork and the acceptance of difference. First class opener to a cracking new series! – Pam Norfolk * Lancashire Post *
Ideal for fans of The Secret Beast Club, this is the start of something truly enchanting. Parents will admire its imagination and inclusive spirit, and children will adore its brave heroes and talking creatures. * Minipreneur *
Exciting reading for young readers who love adventures involving animals and magic, with humorous illustrations by Jenny Taylor adding to the fun. * Red Reading Hub *
Perfect as a shared read in Years 2 and 3, this is a gorgeous story that confident readers in Lower KS2 will enjoy as a solo treat but that will also appeal hugely to Years 5 and 6. I adored it and cannot wait to find out what happens next. * Mrs Sydney’s Famous World Smallest Library *
Chrissie Sains
Chrissie Sains grew up in Billericay, Essex, where she spent her childhood seeking adventure and finding trouble. Described by her teachers as having a “lively imagination”, Chrissie’s escapades include her attempted rescue of the school’s pet fish and the discovery of a dead body in a field that turned out to be two tyres under a sheet. She has swum with sharks, scuba-dived shipwrecks and sky-dived from a plane. Chrissie has a background in marketing and events but now writes full time. She is the author of the Jam Factory series and the co-author of I Got This, with Cara Mailey. She lives in Essex with her husband, two bookworms and two rabbits.
Nia Tudor is a Carnegie Medal and Klaus Flugge long-listed children’s illustrator living and working along the Welsh coast in South Wales, UK. She enjoys exploring different illustration styles, and creating illustrations that are full of texture and filled with small details. Nia enjoys capturing the fun and energy of everyday life and nature in her work, and has a soft spot for underwater scenes. When she’s not drawing, she enjoys talking to her cats, going on family adventures, and reading lots of fantasy books.
