About The Author

Chris 'Wolfie' Cooper

Chris, born in 1964, became a lorry driver in 1986 at the age of 22. What began as a temporary job has continued for nearly 40 years. In his early career, he traveled around Europe. Returning to the UK in 2001, he has worked for a potato merchant, a carrier of Portakabins, and in both general and bulk haulage. He also spent time in a transport office and currently delivers new cars.

Chris became an author after remarking he could write a better book on the A1 than one he had read. This led to the creation of his Great North Road book. With an interest in history and photography, he enjoys the writing process and plans to continue writing.

His interests include reading history, landscape photography, model making, model engineering, and motorbikes. Chris lives in rural North Yorkshire on the edge of the North York Moors.
