Our son (2yrs) loves reading but I give this a lower rating as he prefers the other two books: statistical physics and astrophysics which we have from this series. The concepts are sound but in this particular book they use an abstract explanation so not as easy for kids to follow as the other two books. We more use this as a book to talk about colours, shapes and size rather than read the story. We have the optics book waiting as a Christmas gift and shall see how he enjoys that one! Highly recommend this series, but would suggest astrophysics over this one :)
