About The Author
Charles Ghigna
Charles Ghigna, also known as Father Goose, is an award-winning children’s author and poet. He has authored over one hundred books for publishers such as Disney, Random House, Scholastic, and Simon & Schuster. His work also includes more than five thousand poems featured in various publications, including Harper’s Magazine, The New Yorker, Highlights, and Cricket magazines.
Ghigna has held positions as a poet in residence at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, an instructor of creative writing at Samford University, a poetry editor for the National Council of Teachers of English, and a nationally syndicated feature writer for Tribune Media Services. He has presented his poetry at notable institutions like the Library of Congress and the John F. Kennedy Center, as well as numerous schools and libraries internationally.
Eric Carle was the acclaimed creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and over seventy other beloved children’s books. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has achieved global success with over sixty million copies sold and translations into more than eighty languages. Carle received numerous accolades for his contributions to literature, including the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award (now the Children’s Literature Legacy Award) from the American Library Association. In 2002, he and his wife founded The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Eric Carle passed away in 2021.
