About The Author

Captain Horatio Barber

Horatio Barber was one of Britain’s first pilots, and was instrumental in setting up Shoreham Airport, Britain’s first municipal airport. Reputed to have had a voice so loud he shouted instructions at aviators from the ground, he died in the mid-1950s. His book went through four editions in 1916 and 1917 and has become a classic of aviation literature.
