On 7 December 2003 Daniel Morcombe disappeared on the Sunshine Coast, while waiting for a bus. For Bruce and Denise Morcombe – the parents of Daniel – and his brothers, Bradley and Dean, it was apparent within hours that something was very wrong. He was last seen waiting for a bus on Nambour Connection Road 2km north of the Big Pineapple, Woombye Queensland. Denise and her husband Bruce started the Daniel Morcombe Foundation in 2005. The Foundation was established as a lasting legacy to Daniel and now has two main aims; to educate children on how to stay safe in a physical and online environment and to support young victims of crime. Bruce Morcombe is the father of Daniel Morcombe. Daniel was abducted and murdered 7 December 2003.
