Summary
Bruce Taylor’s monthly letters to a young and developing Presbyterian congregation are a biblically rich, theological feast for the entire church, pastorally composed, ecumenically visioned, oriented to worship and liturgy, fostering mission and stewardship, and exhibiting devotion to the whole people of God and a specific beloved community. This book chronicles the beginnings and growth, issues and interests of a new church development in northern Nevada. But while nurturing the seeds of faith in a local context, its scope is a much broader field, not unlike the way in which the apostle Paul’s concerns addressed in letters to specific congregations contained gems that were treasured by the larger church and nurtured the development of a much wider ecclesiology while teaching congregants how to look at life—personal, congregational, and national—through a theological lens. Useful alike for parish and seminary, speaking to both laity and clergy, Faithtrails is a unique gift of challenge and encouragement to today’s disciples.

Critics Review
“Just as relevant today as when they were written, these letters to a growing parish address the toughest aspects of life, but also the most joyous. From death and grief to the amusements of children’s church camp, these letters can be savored and enjoyed one or two at a time. Offering guidance to live a Christ-centered life fully grounded in the Bible, these letters will lift you up and give you clarity and strength for life’s daily challenges.”
–David Thomson, Professor, Sturm College of Law, University of Denver
“These monthly epistles of love record an extraordinary journey, touching on the progression and development of a growing faith community. The reader is also touched by how a pastor’s personal faith journey is both influenced and challenged. It is filled with narratives which will enlighten and encourage pastors seeking to grow a new community of faith, as well as touch on the memories of those remembering their own life in the parish.”
–Bill Sanders, Retired Transitional Pastor, Presbytery of Denver
