About The Author
Brian Soonho Yoon
Brian Soonho Yoon is an origami artist with more than 12 years of experience in both folding and teaching. The first model that he ever folded was the origami shuriken (throwing star)! Over the years, Brian has honed his folding skills with a particular focus on tessellations—repeated geometric patterns that highlight both the mathematical concepts and artistic precision inherent in origami. In addition to his personal artistry, Brian has dedicated much of his time to teaching origami, sharing his expertise with students of all ages. Whether working with beginners or advanced folders, he enjoys guiding others through the challenges and rewards of transforming a simple sheet of paper into complex, visually stunning designs. In this book, Brian hopes to inspire others to discover the beauty of origami and share his love for the timeless art form.
Kate Francis is an Austin, Texas–based illustrator with more than 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. Originally a graphic designer and art director for ReadyMade magazine and Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, she got her start drawing instructional how-tos and other infographics for accompanying stories. That passion for clarity through visual explanation led to a career creating technical illustrations with a touch of humor when possible. Her favorite project in this book is the inflatable bunny (because of the sheer joy it creates when it pops open), followed closely by the whale.
