About The Author

Brendan Cummins

Brendan Cummins was born in Ardfinnan, County Tipperary, in 1975. He made his senior hurling debut for Tipperary in the 1993-94 National Hurling League. His first senior championship game came in 1995 against Waterford.

Over the next two decades, Cummins made 73 championship appearances, more than any other player in the history of hurling. He won:

  • Two All-Ireland Senior medals
  • Five Munster medals
  • Four National League medals
  • Five All-Star awards

At club level, he played hurling with Ballybacon-Grange and football with Ardfinnan. He has also won the individual Poc Fada competition nine times.

Brendan is a GAA pundit and co-commentator for RTÉ and a regular analyst on The Sunday Game. He is married to Pamela and works as a bank official with AIB.
