About the Author

I am a mother of two boys that are now adults, but my love for animals, especially dogs, has rubbed off on them, which is the reason for Coco. Coco is based on a rescue that happened around fifteen years ago in a similar fashion as the book. My oldest son did find her walking down the middle of the road. The boys and I have to admit, we've made many rescues over the years of dogs, cats, squirrels, birds, and even a baby deer. I am also a nurse of forty years who still practices in-home health, so I have been a caregiver for not only animals, but people. During those forty years, I delivered babies, stitched up wounds, and oh yes, took time out to start a Christian bookstore! My husband and I ran the bookstore for ten years until we had our second child. We sold it at that time. So, that accounts for my love of Christian books for children!
