About the Author

Bill Bryson’s bestselling travel books include The Lost Continent, A Walk in the Woods and Notes from a Small Island, which in a national poll was voted the book that best represents Britain. He has written books on language, on Shakespeare and on his own childhood in the hilarious memoir The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid. His last critically lauded bestseller was At Home: a Short History of Private Life. William Roberts is an American actor whose credits include stage, television, radio, film and voice work. He spent five years as actor/director with the Oregon Shakespearean Festival before moving to Britain and becoming a member of the British Actors’ Equity Association. A broadly experienced actor and voice artiste, Roberts is a frequent reader of American works on BBC Radio and for various audio publishers. He has also appeared on film and TV including Behind Closed Doors, Cold Mountain and Inspector Morse.
