About The Author

Beth L. Hultquist

Dr. Martha Bradshaw graduated from Baylor University with a BSN in 1970. Her professional experience as a registered nurse was primarily in Labor and Delivery and Operating Room, both before and during her time in teaching. She completed a Master’s and PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, has published five books, over a dozen professional articles, and has served as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases. Martha taught nursing for over 30 years in Texas and in Georgia. Her most recent faculty positions were in the Louise Herrington School of Nursing, Baylor University. She served as Associate Dean for three years, one year as Interim Dean, and then as the Interim Associate Dean. Martha now works as a consultant in professional writing and nursing education Dr. Beth Hultquist graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BSN in 1990. She served as an Army Nurse Corps officer on active duty and in the U.S. Army Reserves. Her clinical specialties are adult medical surgical, intensive care, and emergency nursing. She completed her MSN from Nebraska Methodist College and her PhD in Nursing from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. Teaching since 2008, Beth has experience in associate degree programs and is a current Clinical Assistant Professor and coordinator of the Fast Bacc® Program at Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Dr. Debra Hagler is a Clinical Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. As Coordinator for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, she provides consultation to faculty in instructional project development and academic writing. Dr. Hagler is board certified in adult advanced nursing practice, nursing education, and healthcare simulation. She has taught interdisciplinary staff development and higher education faculty development, and in academic nursing settings with pre-licensure through doctoral level learners. She has been honored for her scholarship and national service in the areas of professional credentialing and faculty development by election as a Fellow to the American Academy of Nursing and to the Academy of Nursing Education.
