About the Author

Bernard Mensah is the co-founder of Black Creators in Kid Lit (#BlackCreatorsInKidLit) and the author of the picture books I Am Not Afraid of Anything and My Child, and the chapter book series Kwame's Magic Quest. Islenia Mil is an Afro-Latina illustrator specializing thoughtful storytelling and vibrant color. She aims to transport her readers to another world. Her upbringing is a tale of two isles. She spent her childhood between the bustling environment of New York City and the tropical landscape of Santo Domingo, where she was born.
