What They're Saying

Critics Review

This novel is kooky but great fun. Strachan has a talent for inventing larger-than-life characters with intriguing idiosyncrasies, which stops her novels becoming predictable chick-lit. - Sun

“Strachan now on her fourth novel is a genuinely funny writer and packs the book with good one-liners. The feel-good ending might be improbable, but anyone who has ever been unlucky in love would be rooting for nothing less for Billie.

Rating ****” - Now Magazine

Looking for a guilty pleasure? Then this one’s for you. Funny and romantic.. fresh and witty. - Sainsburys Magazine

Chick lit fans rejoice… Lough out loud as you meander through the topsy turvey life of Billy Baskerville as she attempts to run a brideal shop amidst a host of dirty secrets. Brilliant. - Irish Tatler

It’s official: the drought of fresh new chick-lit is over…The sparkling language and hilarious scenes should keep you enthralled from the very first page… Heaven - Heat on HANDBAGS AND HALOS

A sparkling novel - Mirror on HANDBAGS AND HALOS

Fresh, funny and full of romance - Company on HANDBAGS AND HALOS

A most enjoyable makeover romance, with thoroughly believable villages sorts. Billie Baskerville is a kind of Bridget Jones character who can’t help meddling in other people’s lives until she gets the result she wants. A lovely, easy read. - Gateway online Magazine
