What They're Saying
Critics Review
‘Lyrical, funny and elegantly illustrated, it’s ideal to reread.’ New Statesman;‘Portis reminds us that nature is not for passive viewing. It is to be enjoyed and cherished.’ Just Imagine;‘Both Portis’ illustrations and verses are beautifully textured … Every riddle asks readers and listeners to embrace the great outdoors, to re-experience the familiar with all their senses alert and with a willingness to allow each encounter with nature to reveal unexcepted riches.’ Books for Keeps;‘There is SO much to love about this lyrically written book that gently calls us to appreciate our world afresh. Rich in texture, both verbal and visual, Antoinette Portis’ A New Green Day offers fresh lenses through which to see the natural world and its beauty each and every time we set foot outside.’ Red Reading Hub;‘A clever and beautifully realised picture book. Highly recommended.’ School Reading List
