About The Author

Anne M. Barger

Dr. Anne Barger graduated from the University of Illinois in 1996 and after graduation, went on to a clinical pathology residency program at North Carolina State University. After completion of her residency, she worked for Antech Diagnostics for two years, before accepting a faculty position at the University of Illinois in 2002. Her research interests include clinical cytology and immunocytochemistry as it pertains to diagnosis of canine and feline neoplasia. Currently, she is the department head of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois.

Dr. Amy MacNeill graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Following a year in private practice, she returned to the University of Florida to complete clinical pathology residency and a PhD in virology and immunology. In 2005, she joined the faculty at the University of Illinois. In 2014, she accepted a clinical pathology faculty position at Colorado State University. Her research interests include isolation and characterization of canine and feline tumor cells and the study of poxviruses as anticancer agents.
