She has reported from nearly two dozen countries on everything from the multibillion-dollar global art market to South Korea’s gender wars, and has been the recipient of numerous grants, fellowships, residencies, and awards, including from the New America Foundation, the Alicia Patterson Foundation, MacDowell, the Logan Nonfiction Program, the Fetisov Journalism Awards, the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, the McGraw Fellowship for Business Journalism, the Omidyar Network, the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, the DeGroot Foundation, the Greater Good Science Center, and others.
